The Candidate Who Cares

The President did another Press Conference and said “Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying, this is a great thing for our country. This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody.”

President Trump has held a video call with governors and slammed many of them for being “weak” in the midst of the demonstrations. “You’ve got to arrest people, you have to track people, you have to put them in jail for 10 years and you’ll never see this stuff again,” the president said. “We’re doing it in Washington, D.C. We’re going to do something that people haven’t seen before.”

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also stated that he’s spoken with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence and after a week of silence, DeSantis says, “Florida has zero tolerance for violence, rioting and looting,” the governor said in a statement released Monday evening. “George Floyd’s murder was appalling and the Minnesota perpetrators need to be brought to justice, but this cannot be used as a pretext for violence in our Florida communities.”

Does this sound like productive and positive change? Governor DeSantis is sounding more and more like one of Trumps children after a scolding and is now being forced to do what dad tells him.

We need people in Tallahassee to lead responsibly and when they don’t, we need people to hold them accountable too. That’s why I’m running for Florida State House Representative in District 27.
